Kick-off meeting
On the 1st of February 2022, a kick-off meeting of INHEAL project was held online, gathering representatives of all 4 partners involved. During the first meeting, all the partners had a chance to introduce themselves and their organizations, and discuss the first steps and deadlines of the project with an emphasis on the analysis.
Analysis and best practices
Soon after the kick-off meeting, partners started working on the first product of the project – national analyses establishing the picture of their national health literacy level among seniors, the main gaps in their knowledge, health literacy-related policies, best practices dealing with the topic, as well as innovative solutions and ideas to the problem (ICT-based methods of accessing health information and services such as e-health, m-health, receipts or other tools). The analysis, which has been conducted in each partner´s national language and translated into English, constitutes a knowledge base and a first step in creating the project’s main output – a common methodology (see the dedicated section for more information).
Second partners´ meeting
On the 9th of May 2022, a second meeting gathering representatives of all 4 partners and countries involved in INHEAL project was held online. During the meeting, partners had the opportunity to discuss orally and more in-depth the process and achievements of the first INHEAL product: the National Analyses.
Common methodology and training program:
The results and recommendations included in this common innovative health-improving methodology, containing innovative methods to enhance health literacy among seniors, instructions for their application and practices, and guidelines on passing the knowledge gained directly to older adults, have been obtained from the data collected and hereby, the issues and gaps identified upon desk research in all V4 countries. The national analyses conducted have served as a knowledge base to understand the similarities and differences between the V4-s as well as the needs to cover in each country. The methodology has also been designed to reach and educate seniors through this online platform, reducing the stigma of technology as a tool unsuitable for elders and ensuring the role of health education in the prevention of health problems (see the dedicated section for more information).
Caregivers Training
The caregivers' training is a key output of the INHEAL project. Between November and December 2022, varied organizations gathering older adults such as senior homes and universities of the third age have been invited in Prague, Warsaw, Budapest, and Kosice to participate in the project and receive training on how to share the information, knowledge, and solutions collected in the common methodology, among their pupils. The purpose of this training is to raise further awareness among the caregivers and provide them with the keys to implementing recommendations and activities from the methodology and organizing and coordinating seminars and workshops in their turn to help improve the health literacy of older adults in the V4 region.
Online platform
INHEAL conceived the creation of this user-friendly and accessible online platform serving as an educational tool for all V4 countries and beyond, containing the methodology as well as fundamental information related to health and innovative methods. Until the end of the project, partners will regularly upload relevant and useful content.
Final Conference
After 2 online meetings, a two-day Final conference will be organized in Prague during summer 2023, gathering for the first time all the participants in person to finally discuss the outcomes of the INHEAL project and information learned in preparing the methodology and conducting the training for caregivers. The event will also serve as a forum to discuss future actions and possible adjustments of the project's components in its potential next editions. Topic-related organizations as well as relevant local, and regional stakeholders and policymakers from each V4 country will be remotely invited to join as an audience to inspire them and to raise awareness on the need to improve the policies aimed at strengthening health literacy.
